With a significant and expanding presence in financial crime and control, Chartis seeks a senior leader to elevate this segment of our portfolio. This role involves strategic action, delivering engaging customer experiences, and executing opinion-based research. The candidate must manage the research agenda while expanding coverage with tactical deliverables. Our goal is to develop client relationships that support a subscription-based business model.
The ideal candidate will evaluate vendor strategies and offerings across the financial crime space, providing opinions on their applicability and effectiveness in the marketplace. Chartis values rigorous methodologies, so the candidate must be comfortable setting evaluation criteria with a structured, defensible approach.
This senior role includes team management responsibilities and requires experience in executing bespoke work, such as speaking engagements, authorship of marketing assets, and strategy sessions.

The role is preferred to be based in London or NY (no relocation available), but remote candidates with the right experience will also be considered. Foreign and domestic travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities- Define and conduct ongoing research and analysis of the financial crime segment and sub-segments to provide insights and decision support for technology vendors, financial institutions, and investment firms.
- Execute aligned Quadrants/Rankings assessments.
- Develop a distinct Chartis approach to understanding the factors driving strategies and product offerings of vendors in the financial crime space, helping clients view the landscape for competitive differentiation and success.
- Identify new opportunities for Chartis research coverage to establish us as a thought leader.
- Maintain curiosity to understand and evaluate use cases across risk management within financial services, aiding clients in making informed technology and business decisions.
- Stay informed on market trends through reading, networking, and participating in internal meetings to evaluate and analyze the market. Share insights and research findings actively.
- Support sales efforts by engaging with prospective and existing clients via calls, video conferences, and in-person meetings, including delivering presentations at seminars and conferences.
- Provide tailored consulting to clients, presenting Chartis research and findings to individual companies.
- Maintain a reputation as a thought leader, discussing strategic applications and overarching market trends with CROs, CEOs, risk managers, IT managers, CIOs, and CCOs.
- Require 10+ years of experience in quantitative analytics and machine learning, with a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred).
- Specific working knowledge of financial crime, including provider and buyer use cases.
- Understanding of relevant technology and global regulatory considerations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts simply.
- Strong analytical skills, process-driven, adaptable, and open to feedback.
- Willingness to promote new ideas and opinions within the industry, including speaking engagements and media contributions.
