Job Description
Position Title

Research Assistant/Research Fellow - 16846

Department & Location

College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences, Brunel University London, Uxbridge Campus

Salary

Research Assistant: Grade R1, £36,640-£38,638 per annum inclusive of London Weighting; potential to progress to £39,682.

Research Fellow: Grade R1, £40,757-£44,179 per annum inclusive of London Weighting; potential to progress to £47,921.

Hours & Contract

Part time, 17.5 hours per week; Fixed term for 24 months.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development and deployment of industrial thermal management solutions.
  • Conduct practical investigations and performance assessments of real world systems.
  • Advance modelling and simulation activities for the Enhancement Project.
  • Contribute to technical interpretation of results to inform industrial implementation and decision making.
  • Prepare technical deliverables, research reports, and milestone documentation for the European Commission.
  • Collaborate with internal academic teams and European partners to deliver high standard simulation work packages.
  • Ensure alignment of simulation focused work packages with scientific objectives.
  • Support the integration of modelling outputs into reporting and dissemination.
Qualifications
  • Experience in simulation based research, particularly in multiphysics modelling.
  • Strong interest in applied engineering and computational science.
  • Detail oriented researcher with ability to develop and support methodological advancements.
  • Experience collaborating with international research consortia is advantageous.
