We are seeking a motivated and skilled Systems Development Engineer to join our engineering team in Peterborough, UK. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and development in mechanical systems, tools, and devices, while working in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, develop, test, and manufacture tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices.
  • Analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to evaluate feasibility, cost, and timelines.
  • Investigate equipment failures and provide diagnostic insights and maintenance recommendations.
  • Collaborate with drafters to develop structural designs using industry-standard tools and software.
  • Matlab, Simulink and Stateflow experience is essential, must've used it to create Control Algorithms
  • Significant, demonstrable experience of using Mathworks tools (Matlab, Simulink and Stateflow) for model-based software design and development to create Embedded software. This should have been gained in a combustion engine or hybrid power systems development environment.
  • Looking for candidates to have experience in at least 2/3 of the systems mentioned above.
  • Knowledge of software FMEA and validation plan creation essential as well.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a creative mindset.
  • Proven ability to produce engineering drawings and interpret technical blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience using engineering software such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A team player with attention to detail and a passion for innovation.
