Title: German (Austria) Transcriber - Flexible Remote Side Project - $17.00 USD/hour

About the role

A flexible way to earn extra income from home. We are looking for detail-oriented German speakers in Austria to transcribe to English and annotate long-form podcast recordings (30-60+ minutes) on a large-scale AI speech project. This is freelance, task-based project work - not employment - with no minimum commitment: you choose how much you work from the available tasks. Paid USD $17.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Transcribe long-form podcast recordings accurately, following project guidelines
• Identify different speakers and assign consistent speaker labels with accurate timestamps
• Mark speaker turn boundaries and segment the audio
• Record the perceived gender of each speaker
• Flag audio issues: unclear or distorted speech, strong accents, wrong language, synthetic or AI-generated audio
• Verify and correct pre-annotated segments when required
• Deliver work that meets the project's quality standards (all work is quality-reviewed)

What we are looking for

• English at native-level fluency German and English
• Currently living in Austria (required)
• Strong listening comprehension and close attention to detail
• Experience transcribing long audio preferred files

Pay and workload

• USD $17.00 per hour, paid in USD; billable time is tracked on the task platform
• Freelance, task-based work that fits around study, family, or another job
• Tasks are released weekly on a first-come, first-served basis; volume varies by week
• Work as much or as little as you want, up to 10 billable hours per day
• Typical task unit is a full podcast episode - plan for long, focused listening sessions

What you will need

• Desktop or laptop computer with headphones
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace

Integrity

All transcription must be done manually. The use of automatic speech recognition or AI transcription tools is strictly prohibited and is detected during quality review.
