Job Title: Reliability Engineer
Location: Burton Factory
Unilever is a leading global company in Food, Home and Personal Care products. This role is based at the Marmite site in Burton-on-Trent and is part of the brand-driven team focused on driving business improvement.
Responsibilities- Be a key member of the team, delivering the medium and long-term maintenance strategy for the factory, while supporting short-term results.
- Run diagnostics and troubleshoot faults via root cause analysis and define the preventive maintenance strategy to minimise breakdowns.
- Proactively recommend design improvements and lead machine technical reviews to improve performance.
- Prioritise and resolve abnormalities on the production line.
- Lead, coach, and mentor the Shift Engineers and Technical Operators with a flexible approach.
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (Post Apprenticeship skill level).
- Knowledge and experience with process equipment, ideally in a food manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communicator and team player.
- Instrumentation and control skills; mechanical skills (pump, conveyor, valve repairs).
- Experience in report writing, data analysis and mechanical calculations.
- Ability to make and implement technical decisions that can impact weekly plans.
- Coaching capability using WCM/TPM tools to support the team and improve line results.
- Experience leading contractor activities with safety and quality adherence.
- Ability to self-manage workload and priorities aligned to factory and Unilever priorities.
Desirable
- Electrical skills and diagnostics with PLC qualifications (Siemens S5/Siemens S7/TIA Portal/ PCS7).
- Knowledge of process safety, machinery safety and PSSR.
- SAP experience.
- Confined Space training (Entry/Permit issuing).
- Vibration analysis experience.
