We are looking for a Rehabilitation Specialist to help us build a healthier nation at our club. The Rehabilitation Specialist will deliver Nuffield Health Rehabilitation Programmes utilising the unique Nuffield Health pathway, championing the Charitable Purpose. This role will involve remote (digital) and in-person facilitation of exercise, emotional wellbeing support, healthy eating, and goal setting to aid participants' recovery. The pathway will involve weekly 1-to-1s, group exercise classes (virtual and in-person), promoting goal setting and self-directed activity.
You will demonstrate leadership, good communication, organisation and self-motivation. The role involves working collaboratively onsite, centrally and with our Charity team and beneficiaries. Excellent IT skills and a Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification are essential. Ideally, you will have prior experience in a Rehabilitation Specialist position and an understanding of rehabilitation; a BSc (Hons) in Sports Rehabilitation is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities- Organise and run a series of rolling 12-week rehabilitation programmes.
- Facilitate and deliver live stream and in-person group exercise classes for participants with varying abilities and physical function.
- Promote self-directed activity using pre-recorded on-demand classes and a journal to aid self-management after the 12-week programme.
- Calibrate exercises and intensities based on regular improvements in effort and performance.
- Identify deterioration in participants and, if necessary, follow internal escalation processes; ensure reporting is completed within the required timeframe and outcome data is captured accurately.
- Engage in 1-to-1 weekly telephone conversations with each participant to offer coaching on short- and long-term goals, restrictions, progress monitoring, emotional wellbeing support, and empowerment of self-directed activity.
- Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification (essential).
- IT skills and ability to use digital platforms for remote delivery.
- Problem-solving, organisational ability, and effective decision-making.
- Time and resource management skills.
- Experience working with vulnerable adults (preferred).
- Qualifications showing good English and numeracy skills.
