Responsibilities

Assess patients' needs, develop individual care plans and evaluate outcomes.

Deliver nursing care that respects patients' dignity, preferences and independence.

Administer prescribed medication safely and maintain accurate records.

Monitor patients' conditions, recognise deterioration and escalate concerns promptly.

Work closely with medical staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.

Communicate clearly with patients and families about care and treatment.

Follow infection prevention procedures and support a safe clinical environment.

Contribute to clinical handovers, quality improvement and ongoing professional development.

Candidate Specification

Applicants must hold a recognised nursing qualification and current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, appropriate to the position.

A minimum of three years' clinical nursing experience is required, alongside strong communication, organisational and clinical assessment skills. Candidates should demonstrate sound professional judgement, effective teamwork and the ability to manage competing care priorities.

Desirable Experience

Experience in acute care, older person services, rehabilitation or community nursing would be advantageous, depending on the placement. Additional clinical training, mentoring experience and involvement in quality improvement initiatives are also welcome.
