Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a dedicatedBand 6 General Nurseto join our dynamicNeonatal Unit (NNU)atNewham University Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of newborns and their families, particularly in cases involving complex genetic and congenital conditions.
About the Role:
As a Band 6 Nurse in our NNU, you will:
- Deliver expert care to newborns, especially those with congenital or genetic conditions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including neonatologists, geneticists, and counsellors.
- Provide emotional and educational support to families navigating complex medical journeys.
- Contribute to community outreach and preventative education in areas where consanguinity is prevalent.
- Support genetic counselling and long-term care planning for affected families.
What We're Looking For:
- Registered Nurse (Children's Nurse or Midwife)with a valid NMC registration.
- Minimum 6 months paid NHS experience(essential).
- Proven experience in neonatal care, ideally within a NICU or local neonatal unit.
- Strong understanding of genetics, congenital conditions, and safeguarding.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
