About the Role The role leads Line 2 risk management activities across your region, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and managed in line with Health NZ's risk management policy and framework and within risk appetite.This is a senior Line 2 role, reporting to the Head of Risk Management, and supporting the Executive Regional Director for your region, their teams, district teams and national functions. You will work across a complex, rapidly evolving environment, navigating multiple systems, varied levels of maturity, and diverse stakeholders.As part of the role, you will provide independent oversight of risk management activities, deliver high quality risk reporting and insights to your region's Senior Leadership Team and will be instrumental in embedding a strong risk culture across the region, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor to the Region. You will also contribute to national risk maturity programmes and collaborate with risk resources within the team and across the organisation to ensure consistency and continuous improvement. About you You are a self-starter, who takes ownership and gets things done. You hold a relevant tertiary qualification (a related professional qualification is desired), and have a minimum of 8 years' experience in Risk Management, including senior leadership experience, in complex environments at the beginning of their risk maturity journey. You have a strong understanding of risk management frameworks and methodologies and have successfully applied them pragmatically across complex organisational settings.You are a strategic, analytical thinker who connects organisational dynamics to risk implications and reporting. You intuitively understand people and complex situations, have strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complex environments.
