Contract: Full-time, permanent

Bring your sales and people management experience to the charity sector

Our client, an established charity, is recruiting a Regional Fundraising & Development Officer to support and develop its volunteer fundraising branches across Leinster and the South East.

Charity sector experience and previous volunteer management experience are not essential. This opportunity would suit someone with a background in sales, people management and project or event management who enjoys building relationships, developing others and achieving targets.

The opportunity

Working closely with the Fundraising Team Lead, you will support branches across a territory stretching from Louth to Wexford, with contact across a network of approximately 300 volunteers.

You will help branches deliver successful fundraising activity, strengthen local relationships and develop their volunteer teams. A key part of the role involves identifying people with leadership potential, mentoring them and encouraging them to take on greater responsibility.

You will also take ownership of regional income targets, budgets and branch performance.

Key responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with branch volunteers, providing practical support and guidance.

  • Identify and mentor potential branch leaders, supporting their development and succession planning.

  • Support volunteer recruitment, training and ongoing engagement.

  • Help branches plan and deliver fundraising events, campaigns and projects.

  • Identify new fundraising opportunities and develop relationships with local businesses, community groups and supporters.

  • Take responsibility for regional income targets and profit and loss performance across the region and individual branches.

  • Monitor activity, income and expenditure, maintaining accurate records through CRM and reporting systems.

  • Share successful approaches between branches and help resolve issues affecting performance.

You will bring:
  • Proven experience in sales, business development or fundraising, with evidence of achieving targets.

  • People management experience, including coaching, mentoring and developing others.

  • Experience planning and delivering projects or events.

  • The ability to recognise talent and help people take on greater responsibility.

  • Strong relationship building, communication and customer service skills.

  • Confidence approaching new contacts, including making cold calls.

  • Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to work independently.

  • Strong IT skills and confidence using CRM systems and reporting tools.

  • A full, clean driving licence and eligibility to work in Ireland.

Relevant backgrounds could include area management, regional sales management, field sales management or commercially focused event management. Experience supporting teams across several locations would be useful.

Location and travel:

We are particularly interested in candidates based in East Kildare, West Wicklow or South Dublin who can travel across the wider territory.

The first six months will involve substantial travel as you establish relationships with branches and volunteers. Once established, travel is expected to settle to approximately one or two days on the road each week, depending on branch requirements and events.

Flexibility is required for occasional evening, weekend and bank holiday events or meetings, along with ad hoc nationwide travel.
