Job Description

A full-time, temporary position for a Recruitment Officer has become available within the Service Improvement Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed individual with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to join the Service Improvement Team. The Service Improvement Team are responsible for suggesting and implementing improvements to services across the Council's Adults, Housing & Communities Directorate.

About the job

The successful candidate will be required to assist with permanent and agency recruitment across the Adults, Housing & Communities Directorate, which will include ensuring adverts and job descriptions for roles are correct prior to advertising, undertaking pre-employment checks, co-ordinating interviews and maintaining effective communication with candidates, hiring managers, and colleagues across the Council to ensure a seamless and efficient recruitment process.

The role also involves producing high quality weekly and monthly statistical reports for management.

This role will be primarily home-based or located at County Hall, with the possibility of working at various sites across the city as required.

What We Are Looking For From You

You will have experience of working within a recruitment related environment and knowledge of core recruitment systems, along with good working knowledge of Microsoft software packages.

This role is subject to deadlines being met; therefore, the successful candidate will need to possess good organisational skills and be able to prioritise workloads.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

You will have experience of creating in-depth reports alongside experience of partnership working.

A relevant professional qualification such as the CIPD would be desirable, but is not essential, as full training will be provided.

The ability to speak other languages, in particular Welsh, and Community Languages would be an advantage.

Additional information

This post is temporary until 31st March 2026 and will work 37 hours per week.

This vacancy is suitable for post share.
