Recruitment Consultant - Healthcare - Galway City, Ireland

Experience in recruitment is essential.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Advertise permanent nursing and healthcare vacancies.
  • Search databases, job boards, and professional networks for suitable candidates.
  • Attend recruitment events, career fairs, and networking opportunities.
Screening candidates:
  • Review CVs and assess qualifications and experience.
  • Conduct screening calls.
  • Evaluate clinical skills, communication, and suitability for specific healthcare settings.
  • Verify references and employment history
Compliance and documentation

Ensure candidates meet regulatory requirements, including:

  • Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland / CORU (or eligibility to register).
  • Right to work in Ireland.
  • Qualification verification.
  • Identity checks.
  • Occupational health clearance.
  • Background checks including garda vetting
  • Keep candidates informed throughout the recruitment process.
  • Advising on registration process, visa and employment permit requirements where applicable.
  • Assisting with relocation planning.
  • Providing information about accommodation and settling into Ireland.
Building client relationships / Business development
  • Meet with hospitals, nursing homes, and community healthcare providers.
  • Understand workforce needs and staffing plans.
  • Maintain regular communication to ensure successful placements.
  • Generate new business through networking and sales activities.
  • Maintain existing client accounts.
  • Achieve placement and revenue targets.
Skills required

Candidates should have the following:

  • Minimum of three years recruitment experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sales and negotiation ability.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Relationship-building skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Attention to detail, particularly regarding compliance.
  • Ability to work toward targets.
  • Must have the right to work in Ireland
