Job Description

Position: Vice President or Principal - Legal, Real Assets (London)

Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including property management agreements, audit/tax engagements, referral agreements, consulting engagements, and related statements of work.
  • Manage a high volume of non disclosure agreements and other commercial contracts in coordination with external counsel.
  • Manage property level litigation tendered to tenants in coordination with external counsel.
  • Act as liaison between Blue Owl Real Estate teams and external legal counsel.
  • Develop strong working relationships and partnerships with other teams to support client needs.
  • Ensure that all Legal team records are stored in secure, organized file systems to support shared knowledge and compliant record keeping.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities for the Legal team.
  • Coordinate signatures for documents and various materials.
  • Lead and execute real estate transactions, including cross border deals and international property acquisitions.
  • Provide strategic legal guidance on complex international real estate matters.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure compliance with international regulations and transaction requirements.
  • Lead negotiation of key commercial legal matters with transaction counterparties on deals.
  • Work with investment team to manage European new market entry for jurisdictions not previously transacted in, understanding legal frameworks and investment structures for various European jurisdictions.
Qualifications
  • 7 8+ years of experience at a major law firm or in house legal department working on real estate transactions and real estate management issues.
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Demonstrated drive for results and ability to prioritize risks and projects to focus on what's important in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills; meticulous attention to detail is a must.
  • Strong working knowledge of Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to roll up sleeves to get things done.
  • Team player with enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity to learn more.
