Job Description

Rail Replacement Coordinator (operational, field based, customer service role) - Salary: £14.89 per hour - Location: Plymouth - Shift: variety of shift times, including early mornings, evenings, late nights, and weekends on an annualised 10hrs minimum contract. This is a casual contract.

About the role

As a Rail Replacement Coordinator, you will be the face of First Travel Solutions (FTS). You will supervise and coordinate the safe and timely operation of our rail replacement bus, events and coach services, ensuring the safety of passengers, colleagues, the public and yourself. You will provide assistance and information to passengers, consistently demonstrate excellent customer service skills, maintain high standards in data collection via our coordination portal, and help FTS maintain high vehicle standards and perform regulations auditing.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate safe and timely operation of rail replacement bus, events and coach services. Ensure safety of passengers, colleagues, public and yourself. Provide assistance and information to passengers. Demonstrate excellent customer service. Maintain high standards in data collection via our coordination portal. Help maintain vehicle standards and perform regulatory auditing.

Qualifications
  • Experience working in the transport industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Committed to providing consistently excellent customer service.
  • Confident in engaging drivers on regulations and adherence to PSVAR/PSVAIR.
  • Excellent communication skills - enthusiastic and approachable.
  • Patient, reliable and calm under pressure.
  • Confident working as a team and independently using own initiative.
  • Flexible to work a variety of shift times, including early mornings, evenings, late nights, and weekends.
  • Physical ability: up to 12 hours on feet, handling luggage in all weather, physically demanding.
  • Access to own transportation and located within 10 miles of one of the key stations.
PLEASE NOTE

This is a safety critical role and is physically demanding. You will be on your feet for up to 12 hours, handling passenger luggage in all weather conditions, sometimes without shelter.
