Job Description
Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to ensure smooth service of Radiology departments.
  • Communicate with internal and external professionals and organisations; deliver excellent customer service.
  • Respond to calls and enquiries sympathetically, including requests for imaging results, patient queries and rescheduling appointments.
  • Advise patients of imaging appointments for MRI, CT, X ray, Fluoro, Ultrasound and Dexa by phone or letter.
  • Discuss sensitive explicit complex information with patients for forthcoming examinations.
  • Send out preparation guidelines with appointment letters and medication (Gastrographin, Ominipaque) as prescribed.
  • Cancel, amend and reschedule imaging sessions and appointments on short notice following guidelines; inform patients and staff for Lymington, Hythe and Romsey.
  • Cancel scanning lists and rebook for all Radiology departments.
  • Escalate urgent diagnostic reports to referrer promptly via email per consultant instructions.
Qualifications
  • 3 GCSEs (grade C or above) including English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3 or relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in word processing.
