Job DescriptionTRS are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of large-scale water, wastewater, utilities, and civil infrastructure projects across Ireland. You will work closely with Project and Contract Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with client and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong commercial acumen, effective stakeholder engagement, and the ability to drive cost control, manage subcontractors, and mitigate commercial risk throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Support the commercial and contractual management of projects from tender through to final account
- Prepare, monitor, and maintain project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts
- Administer contracts in line with NEC (preferred) or other forms of contract
- Manage subcontractor procurement, including tendering, evaluation, and appointment
- Review, value, and certify subcontractor payments and variations
- Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Prepare and agree interim valuations, variations, and final accounts with clients and subcontractors
- Provide accurate cost reporting and forecasting to senior management
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure commercial objectives are met
- Support preparation of tender submissions, including pricing and BOQs
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, governance, and client requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
- 3+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role (civils/utilities/infrastructure preferred)
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts (desirable)
- Experience working on water, wastewater, utilities, or infrastructure projects (highly advantageous)
- Proven experience in cost management, procurement, and subcontractor management
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Proficient in Excel and commercial reporting tools
- Working towards or membership of RICS, SCSI, or equivalent
- Experience in design & build or self-delivery contracting environments
- Knowledge of Irish construction contracts and frameworks
