The project:

HS2 will transform Euston station. The redevelopment will create the opportunity for new jobs and up to 10,000 homes as part of a wider masterplan.

We will construct at least six new 400m long platforms, a new concourse and improved connections to Euston Underground station, along with a host of other important features.

As commercial manager you will be responsible for managing the following packaged of works; MFOS Fit Out, Existing Cable Shaft closure & Waterproofing Works (Tunnelling), TSS Building Demolition (inc Heritage recovery).

You'll be responsible for:

  • Administering contractual terms and conditions for suppliers and sub- contractors.
  • Administering incentivisation arrangements as appropriate.
  • Supporting the assessment of EWN's and compensation events.
  • Providing regular cash flow forecast of expenditure for package.
  • Reporting expenditure against the package budget on a monthly basis.
  • Supporting the change management process in conjunction with other functions.
  • Inputting to the monthly consolidated project-wide cost / expenditure report.
  • Assessing potential contractor and supplier claims and make recommendations for settlement.
  • Finalising contractor's accounts and close out contracts for the project.
  • Raising consultant, supplier or contractor instructions as necessary for signature by approved parties.
  • Reporting on the expenditure of financial contingency built into the relevant packages.
  • Providing schedules of rates and commercial input to tender documentation.
  • Undertaking cost analysis of bid returns.
  • Assisting the package project manager in resolving all financial commercial issues arising in the tender return.
  • Supporting the negotiation of two stage fixed price for relevant tenders.
  • Receiving and review monthly valuations from contractors and prepare recommendation for signature by the project manager and designer
  • Reviewing all instructions issued by the project manager for cost implications.
  • Supporting the change control process and assist in identifying the cost implications of any proposed changes.

You'll need to have:

  • Experience leading parts of construction projects within large, diverse teams.
  • Leading value engineer and cost exercises.
  • Ability to build established and effective client relationships.
  • Proficient in use of Cemar.
  • Ability to encourages and empowers others, providing praise & recognition of efforts.
  • Evidence of working towards membership of MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  • Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
