Quantity Surveyor - North London - Civils (NEC contract)

Leading award-winning Civil Contractor with an annual turnover of £2b, seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on their new Framework. The portfolio includes approximately 1,000 projects ranging from £1m to £50m each, located in London, Essex, and Hertfordshire.

Projects involve design and build, including refurbishments and new water treatment works and pipelines. Tasks encompass demolition, enabling works, construction, foundations, piling, RC concrete, tunnelling, shaft sinking, and pipelines. Candidates must come from a main contractor background with civil engineering experience.

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in civil engineering
• At least four years of experience in a similar role
• Experience working with NEC Contracts

Role responsibilities include:

• Providing commercial support and working closely with operational teams
• Contributing to profitable project performance through effective commercial and financial management
• Reporting to the Commercial Manager on financial and legal matters

Principal Duties & Accountabilities:

• Understanding contractual requirements and coordinating responses
• Managing costs, building client confidence, and understanding allowances
• Forecasting costs and managing changes and risks
• Preparing accounts and managing procurement processes
• Financial reporting and supporting junior staff
• Handling claims and ensuring policy adherence

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Optimising commercial returns and controlling costs
• Timely reporting and staff development
• Procurement and continuous improvement contributions
