Quantity Surveyor - Permanent - Derby - Established Contractor - Highways - Strong Project Pipeline - Civils

You will be joining an industry-leading contractor based in Derby operating in the highways industry. Their commitment to delivering an exceptional standard of work has positioned them as a leader in the industry and, due to continued success, they are looking to onboard a Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Derby office with the option for hybrid and flexible working.
Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, maintaining and processing financial and project transactions
  • Analysing project costs and preparing monthly cost reports and commentary for any variance
  • Making site visits to carry out inspections
  • Liaising with all levels of the construction and professional team, including clients
  • Valuing completed work and applying for payments
  • Assisting in providing accurate, real-time, monthly reports (CVRs) and outcome forecasts
  • Attending meetings on-site or elsewhere with site teams, clients, suppliers and other parties as and when required.

  • What you'll need to succeed
    In order to be successful, you must have:
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification (HNC/HND)
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the highways industry
  • Sound knowledge of NEC forms of contract
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Full UK driving licence.
