Quality Technician

Location: Cork, Ireland

Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Working Pattern: Full-time, 5 Days Per Week On Site


About the Role

We are seeking a Quality Technician to join our manufacturing team in Cork on a 6-month contract. This is a hands-on quality role supporting both Production Operations and R&D activities, ensuring products meet the highest quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.

The successful candidate will work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to investigate quality issues, drive corrective actions, perform inspections and audits, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Essential: Demonstrated experience working within ISO quality management systems, participating in and/or conducting internal quality audits, and creating, reviewing, and maintaining SOPs, work instructions, and quality documentation in a regulated manufacturing environment. (must have for profile to be considered)

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day quality support across manufacturing and R&D operations.
  • Execute mechanical, visual, and functional inspections on incoming materials.
  • Act as the primary contact for incoming material quality issues, driving root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and perform dimensional inspections.
  • Conduct functional and visual testing on electronic and mechanical assemblies.
  • Gather, analyse, and present production data to support problem-solving activities.
  • Support shop floor quality systems and ensure compliance with quality controls.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects and downtime.
  • Support quality trials, controlled builds, and process experiments.
  • Ensure Audit and In-Process Quality Control (IPQC) activities are completed effectively.
  • Conduct compliance and ISO-related audits, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Raise and manage quality notifications, bulletins, and containment activities.
  • Review and update SOPs, procedures, and quality documentation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on yield, quality, uptime, cycle time, and scrap reduction.
  • Monitor production quality metrics and work cross-functionally to achieve issue resolution.
  • Support MRB and RMA quality processes.
  • Liaise with suppliers and external vendors regarding quality-related matters.
  • Promote a strong quality culture while adhering to all company policies and safety requirements.
Skills & experience
  • experience applying product inspection techniques and quality control methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of electronic and electromechanical products.
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret trends and quality metrics.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
  • Confident working with suppliers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies would be advantageous.
Qualifications
  • Level 6 qualification in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
  • 2-4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in a quality-focused role is desirable.
