Job Overview

Quality Technician - Weekend Shift at Alcon. Alcon is a global leader in eye care, dedicated to helping patients see brilliantly through innovation and progress.

We are looking for a Quality Technician to provide engineering support to our manufacturing area or project, identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives, and support our quality system.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality oversight/input to the manufacturing area to ensure process and product quality requirements such as data integrity and product segregation are adhered to.
• Identify and execute initiatives to improve process controls and overall effectiveness of the Quality System.
• Lead and/or support process and product investigations using a formal structured approach to identify root causes, establish corrective actions and execute prevention plans.
• Support the execution of validations within the assigned area.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with Alcon's quality system and evolving regulatory requirements (FDA, GMP, medical device, pharmaceutical).
• Support preparation and participation in external audits by notified bodies and health authorities as necessary.

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in a related discipline.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline.
• Two years of technical/manufacturing experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
• Knowledge of FDA, medical device, GMP, and validation requirements.
• Statistical analysis skills and proficiency with word processing software.
• Problem solving, technical writing, and people skills.

Additional Information

This role is initially a 7 month contract, based on a weekend shift schedule.
