We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Systems Manager to join our team in Watergrasshill, Cork. In this dynamic role, you will take the lead in developing, implementing, maintaining, and continually enhancing the site's Quality Management System (QMS). You will play a crucial part in guaranteeing full compliance with BRCGS & Bord Bia standards, customer-specific requirements, and all applicable food safety and regulatory legislation, ensuring excellence at every step.
This is a 1 year Fixed Term Contract.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Management System (QMS)
- Manage and maintain the site QMS in line with BRCGS & Bord Bia Food Safety Standard requirements.
- Ensure documentation, procedures, and records are accurate, controlled, and audit-ready.
Standards & Compliance
Ensure ongoing compliance with:
- BRCGS & Bord Bia Food Safety Standards
- Relevant food safety legislation and regulatory requirements
- Relevant Customer standards
Audit Management
- Lead and coordinate all external and internal audits, including BRCGS certification audits and customer audits
- Act as the primary contact for auditors and customers during site visits.
- Ensure timely close-out of non-conformances with robust root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Customer & Supplier Quality
Manage customer technical relationships relating to quality systems and compliance.
Internal Auditing & Verification
- Develop and manage the internal audit schedule.
- Ensure effective verification activities are in place (e.g., GMP audits, glass & hard plastic audits, traceability exercises).
- Review audit results and drive improvements across the site.
- Manage Pest Control on Site and close out of any NCs raised during visits.
- Maintain the calibration matrix and coordinate with other departments ensuring all equipment is up to date.
Training & Development
Deliver internal training on QMS, HACCP, BRCGS requirements, and customer standards.
Documentation Control
Manage document control systems ensuring version control, approval, and accessibility.
Incident Management
Support investigation of quality incidents, complaints, and non-conformances.
Qualifications- Proven experience managing quality systems in a food manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of BRCGS Food Safety Standard.
- Experience leading audits and dealing with external auditors and customers.
- Knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety legislation.
- Lead Auditor qualification (BRCGS or equivalent) is desirable
- Experience with additional retailer standards (e.g., Musgraves, Tesco, Dunnes, Lidl etc).
