Catalyst is an integrated multi-disciplinary organisation with specialist capabilities in Technical Advisory, ESG and Building Safety. Our company objective is to provide independent advice to clients within the construction industry. We work closely with design and construction teams but our focus is on impartial advice and as such, we do not undertake design. Our technical team drive quality in construction through design review and rigorous site inspection - ensuring better, safer buildings for the end users.
Role OverviewAs we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Inspector to join our Technical Advisory Services team based in Dublin. In this role, you carry out Quality Inspections on live construction sites and of existing buildings. Inspections will be focussed on Building Safety and Architectural detailing.
Typical inspections will be of façade elements, roofing details or internal construction affecting building safety - fire rated walls, firedoors, DAC compliance. You will contribute to raising standards and fostering a culture of compliance within the construction industry-delivering lasting benefits to all industry stakeholders.
The ideal person will ideally come from a building construction background, preferably high density residential - site engineer, site manager, foreperson, tradesperson - with an excellent general knowledge of construction methodologies, detailing and construction quality standards. Experience of carrying out quality inspections would be beneficial, but construction delivery experience is essential.
Key ResponsibilitiesActing as a Quality Inspector in our multi-disciplinary team this individual will carry out Site Inspections across our various services; advancing Catalyst's mission to raise standards and drive compliance in the construction industry. The Inspector will develop and foster relationships with the builders on the various schemes and work to produce the best buildings for future users. The ideal candidate will lead projects where our service is solely focused on inspection.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out on site quality inspections and existing buildings.
- Snagging and de-snagging inspections
- Attending site & client meetings as needed.
- Lead projects for Catalyst where we provide Inspection Services
- Reporting to clients on progress of inspection and snagging processes
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with project teams, builders, and subcontractors to ensure adherence to the Catalyst Quality processes
- Travel to other Irish Cities for Inspections
- Potential for travel to UK cities for one-off inspections
- Demonstrated experience in construction of Residential or similar
- Knowledge of building safety systems - gypsum, firedoors, firestopping
- Knowledge of façade and envelope architectural elements
- Be proficient in the use of IT (laptop/mobile devices)
- Exhibit a genuine passion for enhancing quality within the construction industry.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in teams while driving high performance.
- Capable of self-management and leading initiatives without need for supervision
- Hold authorization to work in Ireland. Have own transport.
- Knowledge of RC and Precast Installations
- Knowledge of MMC building methods
- Experience of compiling completion records for buildings.
