Job Description

Audit Quality Director / Audit Compliance Director - SUPERB ROLE

McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a fast-growing Top40 Accountancy Practice who are looking to recruit a technical expert for all audit quality/compliance matters across the firm, working closely with the Technical Partner and the Technical Committee. The role is pivotal in upholding the firm's commitment to rigorous compliance, consistent application of professional standards and monitoring the firm's technical frameworks. Key duties include:

  • Ensuring the firm remains up to date with developments in financial reporting, auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Championing audit quality across the firm by driving the design, implementation and monitoring of robust quality control procedures.
  • Leading the maintenance and continuous enhancement of the firm's System of Quality Management, ensuring compliance with ISQM 1 and related standards.
  • Supporting the delivery of strategic training programmes for audit and accounting teams, working in partnership with HR and external providers.
  • Enhancing the firm's technical knowledge base including audit methodologies, financial reporting guidance and technical resources.
  • Producing clear, concise and authoritative technical updates, bulletins and guidance on emerging issues in auditing, financial reporting, and regulatory change.
  • Supporting the Technical Partner in preparing and managing annual compliance reviews and internal quality monitoring activities.
  • Managing the firm's reporting obligations to professional and regulatory bodies.
  • Working with the Partners to address technical and ethical queries, including matters relating to the FRC Ethical Standard and relevant Codes of Ethics.
  • Implementing a structured approach to ensuring the firm is fully prepared for new changes in standards, legislation and regulatory expectations.

To be considered for the role you should be a Qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant with in-depth audit quality & regulatory compliance experience in a Top10-50 accounting firm with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You should have a proactive mindset, clear and confident communication skills of technical matters, strong attention to detail, sound professional judgement and a focussed adaptability to changing technical and regulatory environments.

On offer is a salary up to £100/110,000 depending on qualification and relevant experience, with benefits to include company pension, healthcare and 25 days holiday. The firm will happily consider candidates looking to relocate to the Cheltenham/Gloucester/Bristol area from other parts of the UK.
