Qualified Social Worker

Advanced Practitioner - Community Mental Health Team

Location: North West

Paying £32 per hour

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Social Work Advanced Practitioner to join the Community Mental Health Team. Ideally, you will have 2-3 years of experience within Adults Social Care. You will uphold and champion best practices, focusing on solving problems proactively to meet the needs of vulnerable adults and reduce harm. The role involves a mix of office-based work and visiting clients in hospitals and their homes. Mental health experience, report writing, attending Mental Health Tribunals, and familiarity with WCCIS are advantageous, especially given the short contract duration. Local knowledge or willingness to travel is preferred.

Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, you will support the delivery of person-centered, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge, you will make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions. Your strong Social Work experience and communication skills will help you establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure needs are met.

You will be committed to achieving positive and sustainable outcomes for your interventions, striving to provide the best results for children and families, with a focus on protection and efficiency.

Ideal candidate will be:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups
  • Experienced in Court, Children in Need, and Child Protection work
  • Supporting child and family planning, pre-proceedings, and court proceedings
  • Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and issues
  • Proficient in Child & Family Assessments with effective analysis, decision-making, and review skills
  • Skilled in direct work with children and families
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking
  • Committed to continuous improvement and high-quality service
  • Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
  • Able to build meaningful relationships with children and families
  • Experienced in multi-disciplinary, interagency work
  • 2+ years qualified

  • Assess risks, protection needs, and social care requirements
  • Manage a caseload effectively
  • Use specialist communication skills to achieve outcomes
  • Develop individual care plans respecting diversity and promoting dignity
