Job Description

Job Title: Qualified SENCO

Location: Sheffield (S9)

Salary: Up to £220 per day

Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Flexible / Day-to-day / Long-term

Start Date: Immediately

About the Role:

As a Qualified SENCO, you will take responsibility for coordinating and overseeing SEND provision across the school. You will work closely with staff, parents and external professionals to ensure pupils with additional needs receive appropriate support, personalised strategies and access to a high-quality learning experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school
  • Oversee EHCP processes and ensure statutory requirements are met
  • Support staff with effective strategies for SEN and inclusion
  • Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies
  • Monitor and track progress of pupils with additional needs
  • Develop and review individual support plans
  • Promote inclusive practice across all areas of school life
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or equivalent
  • Experience working as a SENCO or in a senior SEND role
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation and best practice
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families and external partners
  • Have the right to work in the UK
  • Hold an up-to-date CV with two references from the last 2 years
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education
