Our industry leading team led by Liz Jones is made up of 30 partners and 81 lawyers spread across the United Kingdom and has a client base which is a mix of leading names in the insurance industry as well as household name corporates. The team provides effective claims solutions for cases of the utmost severity and complexity (be they traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, amputation or high value fatal accident claims) allowing our lawyers to build strategic partnerships. Whether the instruction is for pre emptive advice/investigations or upon litigation our aim is to provide a clear strategy from the outset.

The role that is available provides a fantastic opportunity to develop both your skill set and career alongside experts in this area in a collaborative and flexible working environment.

What you will do?

Your role will be two fold including (1) managing a portfolio of Periodical Payments Order (PPO) cases under the supervision of a partner and (2) assisting that partner in handling his complex and high value claims.

The PPO work involves the post litigation administration of a portfolio of PPO cases for insurers including:

  • Ensuring the efficient recalculation and administration of the payments due to Claimants.
  • Dealing with the quantification and collection of any statutory funding repayments due to insurers.
  • Liaising directly with Claimants or their deputies/other representatives on all matters involving those payments and repayments.
  • Also liaising directly with insurers on those matters.
  • Collating management information on the cases as needed.

Full training will be provided for this specialist role which will involve a large degree of autonomy, but will have support on hand from other team members and the supervising partner.

The claims work will involve assisting the partner on his traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury cases to ensure that these are handled in an efficient and proactive manner.

Both aspects of the role will involve meeting the needs of the clients, the commercial requirements of the firm and the necessary quality standards and will include:

  • Adherence to internal and client SLAs, KPIs and protocols
  • Achievement of agreed financial targets
  • Prompt and accurate provision of MI
  • Applying appropriate and current technical expertise and case law
  • Maintaining and developing technical knowledge through attendance at training sessions and reading appropriate publications
Who you are
  • Previous experience of working or assisting on Personal Injury claims and ideally, but not necessarily Catastrophic and Complex Injury claims or a keen interest in this area of law
  • Organised and efficient with good time management and diary management skills
  • High level of personal compliance with firm protocols and procedures
  • Team oriented and collegiate with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team
  • Excellent relationship and client handling skills with an ability to deal confidently and professionally with Claimants/their representatives and clients on a daily basis.
What's in it for you?
  • High levels of flexibility and a great work life balance
  • A well rounded remuneration package (which includes private medical insurance, income protection insurance and discounted gym membership, amongst many other benefits)
  • Opportunities for growth and progression including professional funding
  • In person and remote social events
  • Opportunity to get involved in a range of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) activities

We are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace, which aligns closely to our cultural principles (Determined, Clear, Creative and Supportive). If you are excited about this role and being part of our culture, but your past experience does not align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles!
