What we look for?

We are looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer. You will lead the development and upkeep of automated testing frameworks and scripts, ensuring our applications meet high standards for quality and reliability.

Location: 3 days a week at the client's Office in Madrid (Metro Sol). 2 days remote

Language: English is a must. Spanish desirable.

100% remote position for people located in Spain.

Mandatory requirements:

Integrated QA Leadership

• Serve as the QA Automation specialist embedded within an Agile team.
• Advocate for software quality across the development lifecycle, from code check-in through production rollout.

Test Strategy & Design

• Craft comprehensive test plans and design test cases to cover functional requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Identify candidate scenarios for automation and maintain a robust regression suite.

Automation Development

• Build and maintain automated tests using Playwright with TypeScript at the UI and API levels.
• Extend and refactor existing automation code-adding, updating, or removing scripts as needed.

Manual & Exploratory Testing

• Conduct hands-on manual testing when automation isn't feasible, ensuring critical areas remain covered.
• Dive into databases to source or generate test data for complex scenarios.

Quality Operations

• Execute and log test results in an audit-compliant manner.
• Track, analyze, and triage defects, collaborating with developers to drive resolutions.

Candidate Profile

Agile & DevOps Experience

• Proven track record working in Scrum/Kanban teams; exposure to DevOps practices is a plus.
• Comfortable guiding testing efforts from early development through user acceptance.

Automation Expertise

• 5+ years implementing automated tests for web UIs and RESTful APIs.
• Skilled in test case design, risk-based testing, and maintaining regression suites.

Technical Skills

• Proficient with JavaScript/TypeScript and familiar with Java or C# for scripting.
• Hands-on experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira; XRAY knowledge is advantageous).
• Able to query and manipulate databases to support testing activities.

Domain Knowledge & Extras

• Background in cloud platforms, modern web architectures, or financial services is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Client Lifecycle Management workflows is a strong plus.
