Job Description

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements
  • Experienced Software Engineer with strong Python expertise
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices and full SDLC experience
  • Team leadership experience, with ability to mentor and develop others, run 1-2-1s and performance reviews
  • Good knowledge of cloud-based services; GCP experience preferred, but AWS or Azure is acceptable
  • Experience building APIs, ideally with FastAPI
  • Good knowledge of CI/CD, testing and deployment
  • Thorough understanding of computer science fundamentals, including OOP, data structures, design patterns and algorithms
  • Collaborative and pragmatic with strong communication skills
  • Degree educated in a STEM discipline, with a 2.1 or above
Responsibilities
  • Lead a talented engineering team while remaining hands on in architecture, design and delivery
  • Drive engineering standards and help shape the next phase of platform development
  • Mentor developers and support their growth through regular feedback, 1-2-1s and performance reviews
  • Contribute to technical direction and help the team solve complex technical challenges across our Python platform
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering and business stakeholders
  • Lead the delivery of new capabilities for our core banking technology platform
  • Help evolve our platform and engineering culture in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
