Overview

We're working with a digital consultancy delivering modern, user-centred technology solutions within theNHS.They're looking for an experiencedPython Developerwho can help build and maintain scalable applications that directly improve public services.

You'll join a multidisciplinary team working in an Agile environment collaborating with designers, engineers, and data specialists to create impactful products used by thousands nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintainPython-based APIs and back-end services.
• Work closely with front-end developers to integrate applications built inVue.js.
• Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure onAWS, ensuring performance and security best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across NHS or government projects to deliver robust, compliant solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following GDS and NHS digital standards.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills

• Strong experience withPython(Django, Flask, or FastAPI).
• Experience buildingVue.jsfront-ends or similar JavaScript frameworks.
• Proficiency withAWS(Lambda, S3, ECS, CloudFormation, etc.).
• Familiarity withCI/CD pipelinesand automated testing.
• Understanding ofdata security, governance, and accessibilityin public sector contexts.
• Proven experience onNHS or central governmentdigital projects.

Desirable Skills

• Exposure toGDS service design standards.
• Experience withDocker / Kubernetes.
• Knowledge ofTerraformor other IaC tools.
• Background working inAgile / Scrumenvironments.
• Previous experience withAPI integrationsordata pipelinesin healthcare or government settings.
