Hays is delighted to be working exclusively with a well-established manufacturing business in Co. Fermanagh as they recruit a Purchasing Assistant to join their procurement team.

Your new role
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will support the day-to-day purchasing requirements of the business, working closely with internal departments and external suppliers.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the daily purchasing of stock and materials
• Liaising with suppliers and internal stores and accounts teams
• Ensuring goods are delivered in a timely manner
• Maintaining and reviewing supplier assessment information
• Monitoring the quality of goods received against requirements
• Coordinating the return of unacceptable goods
• Managing stock orders and updating purchasing databases
• Preparing weekly reports and carrying out data analysis
• Supporting general purchasing administration
• Assisting the Purchasing Manager with additional duties as required

What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, you will have:

• 1-2 years' experience within purchasing, procurement or a similar role
• Good commercial awareness and negotiation skills
• Strong IT and computer skills, ideally with exposure to purchasing systems
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• A proactive and self-motivated approach
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Confidence communicating with suppliers and internal stakeholders
