About the role
Reporting to the Director of Public Sector, the Public Sector New Business Lead will identify, qualify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the UK public sector. Collaborating closely with our bidding, strategy, and marketing teams, you will lead initiatives from inception to close, working with a supportive team.
You will build strong relationships with key stakeholders, understand their needs, and present our digital transformation solutions effectively. Your role is vital in expanding our Public Sector client base and contributing to our success.
Key Responsibilities
Opportunity Identification & Qualification
- Proactively research and identify new business opportunities within the UK public sector.
- Review and qualify inbound opportunities via public sector frameworks.
- Use market intelligence, networking, and online resources to identify potential clients and projects.
- Maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities.
Relationship Building & Stakeholder Management
- Build and sustain relationships with decision-makers and influencers within target organizations.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Represent Valtech professionally to enhance brand awareness.
Sales & Business Development
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and bids.
- Understand client needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop effective proposals.
- Manage the sales process from initial contact to contract signing.
- Coordinate with marketing for targeted campaigns.
- Stay informed on public sector trends, policies, and procurement frameworks.
- Conduct competitor analysis and identify market opportunities.
- Provide regular reports on sales activities and market insights.
- Maintain accurate CRM data.
- Work with the bid team and subject matter experts to produce high-quality tenders and proposals.
- Ensure smooth handoff of opportunities to the delivery team.
- Support lead generation and campaigns with marketing.
You should have extensive experience in digital consultancy sales, especially in Data & AI, digital public services, and back-office systems within the UK Public Sector.
You will be passionate about improving government services, with knowledge of frameworks and procurement processes being advantageous. Strong proposal and bid writing skills, negotiation experience, leadership qualities, excellent communication, resilience, and commercial acumen are essential.
