BCL Legal is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading international law firm to recruit a Public Procurement & State Aid Solicitor (2-6 years PQE) to join its highly regarded Competition, EU & Trade team based in Birmingham.
The Role
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic and expanding team that advises on some of the UK's most high-profile and complex public procurement, UK subsidy control, and EU State aid matters.
As part of this specialist team, you will:
Advise a broad client base from both public and private sectors on the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, the forthcoming Procurement Act 2023, and related legal frameworks.
Assist in resolving procurement disputes, judicial reviews, and advising on major infrastructure and development projects.
Provide guidance on UK subsidy control, EU State aid regulations, and international trade matters, navigating a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across national and international offices on cross-jurisdictional matters.
Candidate Requirements
We are seeking a candidate who:
Is a qualified solicitor with between 2-6 years' post-qualification experience and a background (or keen interest) in public procurement, subsidy control, or State aid law.
Possesses strong technical, drafting, and analytical skills, with a commercial and solutions-focused approach to legal advice.
Has an excellent academic track record and a genuine enthusiasm for legal and regulatory developments.
Enjoys working in a team environment, is confident with client engagement, and is eager to play a role in the continued growth of the practice.
