Public Dental Officer - Uist

NHS Western Isles is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated dentist to join the Public Dental Service team. The successful candidate will be based in the Uist & Barra Hospital, providing dental care for priority group patients, including children and adults who require additional support, within a static clinical environment and also in care home and domiciliary settings.

Salary and Allowances

• PDS £54,117 - £81,174 per annum
• Distant Islands Allowance £1,406 per annum
• Remote Areas Allowance £4,500 per annum (years 1-3); £9,000 per annum pro rata for years 3+
• Recruitment and Retention Allowance £25,000 paid over 2 years (subject to eligibility)
• Out of Hours Allowance and on-call payment for undertaking on call duties
• Up to 33 days annual leave per annum plus 8 public holidays (dependent on NHS service)

Qualifications and Requirements

Registered dentist; ability to deliver a range of treatments in challenging environments; register with the PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme).
