A professional who can work with a range of presenting needs and trauma modalities would be an advantage in this role. Professional development and innovative work are actively encouraged. Main duties of the jobThe post holder will provide psychological assessment and interventions within CTE, manage a caseload of service users, join the duty psychology rota, liaise with other professionals and agencies, manage and review care plans, and maintain CPD and registration. The successful candidate will offer evidence based clinical decisions and treatment options, observe Trust and national policies, work autonomously, and supervise trainees or team members. Clinical oversight will be held by the clinical lead in the service.

Job responsibilitiesJOB SUMMARY - CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
The post holder will provide specialist clinical psychology skills within a multidisciplinary team, offer high quality assessment and intervention, work autonomously within professional guidelines, supervise assistants and trainees, and contribute to audit and research.
KEY RESULT AREAS- Provide assessment and treatment options for people experiencing moderate, severe and complex mental health problems.
- Exercise expert clinical judgement based on the highest standards of evidence based practice.
- Continually seek to expand and consolidate clinical skills through training, experience and supervision.
- Provide specialist risk assessment and intervention.
- Follow Adult and Child Protection guidelines and liaise with all relevant agencies.
- Consult with the wider professional network and deliver the most appropriate clinical service to people and their families.
- Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for assessment, treatment and discharge of clients.
- Communicate skillfully about assessment, formulation and treatment plans, effectively evaluating progress.
- Receive regular professional supervision from a senior Clinical Psychologist or psychotherapist and, where appropriate, other senior clinicians.
- Access continuing professional development opportunities and contribute to CPD programmes.
- Assist in the supervision of Doctoral level Clinical Psychology trainees and trainees from other disciplines.
- Assist in the teaching and training of professionals.
- Contribute to audit processes within the service.
- Conduct research and provide advice on research projects to other staff.
- Undertake project management to aid service development.
- Maintain highest professional standards of practice, maintain professional memberships and engage with current developments in the field.
- Maintain comprehensive clinical records and ensure professional self governance.
- Keep current knowledge of legislation, national and local policies relevant to clients.
- Work flexibly regarding base location and clinical availability.
- CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
- Hons. Degree in Psychology.
- Appropriate safeguarding training.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council as a Clinical Psychologist.
- PSYCHOTHERAPIST
- Registered qualification in core mental health/social welfare profession.
- Qualifying level course in Psychotherapy or equivalent at Masters level.
- Registration/Accreditation with the relevant professional/accrediting body for the model of psychotherapy (e.g. UKCP, ACAP, BABCP).
- Minimum 2:1.
- Eligible for chartered status.
- CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
- Current driving licence and access to a car during the working day (reasonable adjustments considered).
- IT literate.
- Knowledge of adult & child protection legislation.
- Awareness of legislation relevant to clinical practice.
- PSYCHOTHERAPIST
