Contract & Salary
  • Contract Type: Full Time Permanent Contract
  • Salary: €60,342 to €105,535 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI's Long Service Increments.
  • This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.
  • Annual Leave Entitlement: 34 days pro rata per annum.
Overview of the Post

Enable Ireland delivers children's services through the Children's Disability Network Teams (CDNT) under the national Progressing Disabilities Services (PDS) model for children and young people with complex needs arising from a disability. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a range of Psychology services for young people (0 - 18 years) and their families within an interdisciplinary framework. Service will include assessment and intervention, clinical supervision and ongoing service development. This will be delivered through a family centred approach across a variety of settings including the clinic, preschools, schools, children's homes and community settings.

Qualifications
  • Have a university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained with 1st or 2nd class honours, with Psychology taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject.
  • Have an Irish postgraduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology, or an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health.
  • Demonstrate competence in the Care Group/s applied for.
  • Applicants with a clinical or counselling psychology qualification must demonstrate that they have acquired at least 60 days of supervised clinical placement or post qualification supervised work experience in Disability (Child and Adult), Child Psychology, or Adult Psychology.
  • Applicants with an educational psychology qualification must demonstrate that they have acquired at least 60 days of supervised clinical placement or post qualification supervised work experience in Child Disability or Child Psychology.
  • Combinations of supervised clinical placement and post qualification supervised work experience within a single care group area to give a total of 60 days are not acceptable.
  • Must be a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Applicants who qualified outside the Republic of Ireland must already have their qualifications validated by the Department of Health and Children and the Psychological Society of Ireland.
  • Meet the requirements of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) to work as an Educational Psychologist.
  • Experience of working with children of 0 18 years with at least one of the following disabilities: physical disability, autism, learning disability, etc., and their families.
  • Eligible to work within the state.
  • Full driver's licence with access to own transport.
  • Experience of inter and trans disciplinary team working.
  • Experience of working in a disability service.
  • Experience of working with children and adolescents with a range of disabilities post qualification.
  • Knowledge and skills in the management of behaviours of concern.
  • Knowledge and skills in conducting diagnostic assessments in children and young people including Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Intellectual Disabilities.
