Salary range: £42,912 - £49,155 per annum. Salary negotiable depending on experience.
Work location: North Area Service Centre, 1 Glasgow House, Lanark Road, W9 1QY.
Hours per week: 36.
Contract type: Temporary up to 6 months.

The Role:

As a Property Surveyor, you will contribute to Westminster's success by overseeing and ensuring building and maintenance projects are delivered on time and to budget. You will manage repairs, planned works, refurbishment of empty properties, dampness and condensation issues, leak detection, planned preventative maintenance and the pre and post inspection of works. You will oversee the property surveying functions for a portfolio of approximately 5,000 homes, including building structure, fabric, internal and communal areas, and estate grounds.

You will work with Area Repairs Managers to implement and develop the systems necessary to regularly inspect external and communal parts of properties, identify requirements for repairs and maintenance, and ensure works are carried out according to urgency and priority. You will collaborate with colleagues to improve quality and customer satisfaction, and highlight key investment needs to the Property Planning and Assets Team so that works can be planned appropriately.

You will also help lead and develop a technical staff team, manage the local delivery of the repairs term contract, implement and document the health and safety management policy, and lead, deliver and oversee planned strategic projects and programmes of change. You will help establish a coordinated and integrated approach to the services provided.

Responsibilities and qualifications: You should have experience diagnosing defects and undertaking repairs in residential buildings, arranging inspections, visiting homes, managing workflow systems, mobile reporting, production of reports and management information, using performance data and customer feedback to improve service delivery. You should have strong IT skills, experience with CDM Regulations and health and safety requirements, and be able to assess compliance with technical standards. You should investigate complaints, manage and coordinate responses to major service failures and emergencies. You should be able to plan, organise, produce high quality work, communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, work independently in a fast moving, high pressure environment, and be committed to continuous professional development.
