The TeamThe Operations and Asset Management Office plays a central role in operating, developing and enhancing the power system and wholesale electricity market. Within it, the Operations Development and Compliance function brings together expertise across engineering, business and legal disciplines to support future system and market readiness, grid and market code development, code and compliance assurance, and engagement with regulatory and industry stakeholders in Ireland and Europe.
The RoleThe Senior Lead Analyst will play a key role in developing and embedding EirGrid Group's Compliance by Design framework. The role will help ensure that regulatory, licence, code, policy and governance requirements are identified early and built effectively into projects, programmes, operational change and strategic initiatives.
Acting as a subject matter expert, the role will provide challenge, oversight and assurance to support regulatory readiness, operational readiness and effective compliance management, while contributing to a strong governance and assurance capability across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and continuous improvement of the EirGrid Group Compliance by Design framework, including supporting methodologies, standards and guidance.
- Ensure regulatory, code, licence, policy and governance obligations are identified, assessed and embedded in projects, programmes and operational change from initiation through to implementation.
- Provide independent challenge and assurance on regulatory and operational readiness, including go live and handover decisions, and maintain clear evidence of compliance outcomes.
- Identify compliance gaps, risks and improvement opportunities and support the development of practical actions to address them.
- Support internal, external and regulatory audit activities, track findings and remediation actions, and contribute to assurance reporting and governance papers.
- Build effective relationships across EirGrid Group and work with programme teams, operational functions and governance forums to embed compliance requirements in decision making and delivery.
- Promote a culture of accountability, regulatory awareness and continuous improvement through guidance, training, knowledge sharing and practical support.
- Contribute to the development of the Codes & Compliance Centre of Excellence and the consistent application of compliance and assurance practices across the organisation.
- Degree in a relevant discipline and at least 5 years' experience in regulatory, governance, compliance, risk, audit, market or analytical roles, ideally in a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of governance, risk, compliance and assurance, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory or operational requirements and translate them into practical business actions.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and judgement skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to identify risks, challenge constructively and support sound decision making.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports, briefing papers and management information for senior management, governance forums and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high quality outputs in a collaborative environment.
