Job Description
Project Support Officer
  • Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne (Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: 01/07/2027
  • Rate of Pay: £15.46 per hour (paid weekly)
  • Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
  • Work Pattern: Hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 days from home)

Our client, a reputable organisation committed to flood risk management and environmental enhancement, is hiring a dedicated Project Support Officer to join their dynamic team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that protect communities and improve the environment.

What you'll be doing:
  • Supporting project delivery across flood risk management schemes and environmental projects
  • Assisting Project Managers with administrative, financial, data, and organisational tasks
  • Handling and processing data, creating GIS layers, and setting up project workspaces
  • Organising meetings, taking minutes, and preparing notices and newsletters
  • Ordering site signage and running reports to track project progress
  • Accompanying Project Managers on site visits and supporting incident response activities
What you'll bring:
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle data accurately and efficiently
  • Willingness to learn about EA legislation, policies, and project management practices
  • Flexibility to respond to incidents and support business continuity when needed
Desired skills and qualities:
  • Experience with GIS or data management tools is advantageous

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently
