Job Description

Are you a dedicated and experienced Site Manager with a background in Manufacturing or engineering?

We are seeking a highly competent and motivated Project Site Manager to join the DS Smith team for a 12-month contract. You will be instrumental in ensuring the successful and compliant delivery of a major Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) project on site, providing essential contractor support and expertise throughout the project lifecycle.

Role: Project Site Manager Location: DS Smith Packaging, Mill Road, Devizes, Wiltshire, SN10 3EW Hours: Flexibility is needed as you will be working any 5 days out of 7 from 7.30am - 6pm Salary: £550 - £680 per day

This is a hands on contractor management role to support the leadership team during the delivery of a specific project and the ideal candidate will be someone who has previous experience as a project site manager, managing the installation, removal and upgrade of manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Permit Management: Issue & closure of permits to contractors
  • RAMS: Review all RAMs and approve or reject
  • Deliveries: Oversee deliveries & collection of materials, vehicles, skips & machinery
  • CDM Management: Update project planner with progress reports, coordinate daily works, daily audits
  • Site Inductions: Delivery of all site inductions
  • General site maintenance: Vehicle checks, responsible for chemicals and flammables
  • Tool box talks
  • Incident/accidents investigations
Essential requirements:
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Strong understanding of CDM regulations
  • Engineering qualification (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Experience reviewing RAMS and Construction Phase Plans.
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder skills
  • Previous experience of contractor management
  • Competent with MS office
Desirable:
  • NEBOSH
  • Experience of AutoCAD
