Location: East Anglia / Southern North Sea Projects
Sector: Oil & Gas Brownfield Project Services
Contract Type: Permanent
We're supporting a leading operator in the East Anglia region in their search for a Project Services Engineer to join their Brownfield
Modifications Team. This is a critical role based within one of the UK's most established energy hubs, supporting brownfield projects tied to the Southern North Sea asset base.
Overview
As a Project Controls Lead, you'll be a key player in delivering brownfield modification scopes-ranging from minor upgrades to complex brownfield integration projects. You'll bring deep expertise in Cost Control, Planning, or Reporting, acting as a subject matter expert and advisor across the project lifecycle.
Operating within a high-performing regional project team, you'll work closely with the Brownfield Modifications Manager to ensure cost, schedule, and reporting deliverables are met with precision and pace.
Core Responsibilities
Cost Control
- Build, maintain, and deliver detailed cost schedules from source data with minimal oversight.
- Tailor cost information and analysis to suit the needs of regional and corporate stakeholders.
- Support cost-related elements of change control, estimating, forecasting, and reporting.
- Drive data quality using structured tools and reporting frameworks.
Planning
- Deliver CTR catalogues and establish robust project baselines.
- Develop and manage fully logic-linked, cost/resource-loaded schedules across multiple scopes.
- Produce earned value analysis and regular performance reports to inform project decision-making.
- Maintain Primavera P9 schedules aligned to brownfield project requirements.
We're looking for candidates with a strong track record supporting project controls within the East Anglia or Southern North Sea oil & gas environment, ideally with brownfield or modifications experience.
- Demonstrable experience in cost and project controls, with a focus on complex brownfield or asset upgrade work.
- Comfortable engaging and influencing stakeholders across onshore and offshore teams.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office and planning tools such as Primavera (P6/P9).
- Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle-from early concept through to close-out.
- Solid foundation across key project control functions: estimating, planning, scheduling, cost tracking, change management, and reporting.
- Able to operate autonomously and under pressure, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
- Good commercial awareness and appreciation of typical oil & gas contract/legal frameworks.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-visibility projects in a region where energy is central to the local economy. If you're based in or around East Anglia-or are open to relocating-and want to apply your expertise in a strategic role with long-term project impact, we'd love to hear from you.
