Job Description
You want to put your technical expertise and your sense of coordination to the service of a public-impact mission? Are you motivated by the issues related to hydrological hazards and the development of sustainable solutions in the area? Do you know how to unite diverse stakeholders around common objectives? This position is for you! We are looking for our future Project Manager in integrated management of hydrological risks (fixed-term contract of 4 years). As a Project Manager, you will play a central role in implementing the cantonal scheme for runoff prevention and management of hydrological hazards. In this context, you will be part of the prevention division of the ECA and also contribute to missions in the water resources and hydraulic economy division of the General Directorate of Environment (DGE-EAU). You will participate in the development and monitoring of transversal projects involving the ECA, Vaud, municipalities, and various professional partners. Your mission will include supporting pilot projects carried out in the canton, analyzing phenomena related to runoff to derive appropriate management measures, organizing and leading working groups and exchange spaces, as well as supporting the stakeholders concerned in implementing prevention measures through ECA funding. You will ensure coherence and collaboration between cantonal services, the ECA, municipalities, and specialized offices. Through your actions, you will actively contribute to enhancing knowledge sharing, harmonizing practices, and fostering a common culture of integrated risk management linked to the profile. You hold a degree in hydraulic engineering, hydrology, or a related field (Master's level or higher) with experience in hazard management and building protection and have at least three years of experience in an authority or engineering office specializing in hazard protection. You master the issues related to runoff and its impacts on construction. You are accustomed to managing projects involving many partners and demonstrate proficiency in negotiation and building common solutions. Your analytical, synthetic, and organizational abilities allow you to address complex issues clearly and efficiently. You are proficient in standard office tools and comfortable with information systems. You have an excellent command of French; knowledge of German is an asset. We look forward to receiving your application by March 25: CV, cover letter, and copies of diplomas. We process and respond to all applications. For those we wish to meet, we will contact you by phone to invite you to a first interview. You will meet your future manager as well as a person from human resources. The continuation of the process consists of a personality test to be completed online and a second briefing session. Do you have any questions?
