An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a major Defence infrastructure project based at HMNB Clyde, Faslane.
This is a long-term contract supporting the delivery of a high-profile project within a secure and highly regulated environment. Youll take ownership of the project from mobilisation through to completion, leading direct labour and subcontractors while ensuring delivery is safe, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced Project Manager from the defence, nuclear, construction or industrial sectors who enjoys leading complex projects within safety-critical environments.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful planning, mobilisation and delivery of the project, ensuring commercial, operational and HSEQ objectives are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with the client and internal stakeholders, you will lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver the project safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the successful delivery of the project from mobilisation through to completion.
- Manage direct labour, subcontractors and project teams, ensuring resources are effectively planned and utilised.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the client and key stakeholders, acting as the main point of contact throughout the project.
- Manage programme delivery, project risks, change control and overall project performance.
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts and commercial performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Produce regular progress reports and provide updates to senior management and the client.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards, promoting a positive safety culture across the project.
- Review and approve project documentation, including RAMS, work packs and construction methodologies.
- Coordinate subcontractor performance to ensure works are completed safely, on time and to the required quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with Planning, Commercial, Procurement and HSEQ teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement and ensure all project documentation is maintained accurately throughout the contract.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering complex projects within highly regulated environments.
You will have:
- Extensive Project Management experience within defence, nuclear, construction, infrastructure or industrial services.
- Experience delivering projects from mobilisation through to completion, with responsibility for programme, budget, quality and commercial performance.
- A strong background managing direct labour, subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
- Excellent commercial awareness with experience of forecasting, cost control and project reporting.
- Experience working under NEC contracts and managing contractual change would be advantageous.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credibility at all levels.
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation and experience working within safety-critical environments.
- A relevant Project Management qualification such as APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent is desirable.
- Defence or Nuclear experience is highly desirable however, candidates from major construction or industrial sectors with transferable experience are encouraged to apply.
Due to the nature of the project, candidates must either hold current SC Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain clearance.
Whats on Offer- £525-£550 per day (Inside IR35), with flexibility for exceptional candidates.
- Long-term contract running through to January 2029.
- Four-day working week (Monday to Thursday, 07:15-16:45).
