Electrical Project Manager - Data Centre Construction (Lisbon, Portugal)

Our client is seeking an accomplished Electrical Project Manager to join our client's world-class team in Portugal, managing mission-critical data centre projects that are shaping the digital future of Europe.

As Electrical Project Manager, you'll oversee the full electrical scope of works on high-value projects, ensuring safe, timely, and on-budget delivery to the highest industry standards. You'll collaborate closely with internal expert teams, subcontractors, and clients, driving project excellence and building strong relationships at every stage.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of electrical works on a data centre project, ensuring compliance with programme, cost, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Manage coordination between electrical design, BIM, commissioning, and construction teams to ensure fully integrated, buildable solutions.
  • Own short-term and lookahead planning, driving milestone achievement for key data centre systems (HV/LV, UPS, generators, MV, earthing, BMS interfaces).
  • Control labour, materials, and specialist resources, including long-lead electrical equipment, to protect schedule certainty.
  • Act as the primary electrical interface with the client, EPC, and third-party stakeholders, supporting technical reviews, progress reporting, and change management.
  • Lead and develop electrical project teams and subcontractors, maintaining productivity in a high-intensity, multi-contractor data centre environment.
  • Enforce rigorous quality, safety, and commissioning readiness standards in line with mission-critical and operational handover requirements.


Requirements

  • Significant experience managing large-scale electrical projects - ideally with data centre or critical infrastructure experience
  • Data centre project experience is highly desirable.
  • A relevant trade or engineering qualification is preferred, along with recent experience managing major electrical contracts.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven track record in managing project schedules, budgets, and resources within complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Must have EU passport or unrestricted working Visa for Portugal
