Job Description

Job Summary: The Project Manager will take full responsibility for the delivery of a large, complex energy project from pre- construction through commissioning and handover. The role requires strong civil engineering oversight, rigorous budget and commercial management and confident leadership of electrical works with significant technical and interface complexity, including long cable routes , multiple transformers and complex site tie-ins

  • Responsibilities:
  • Take full ownership of project delivery, including safety, quality, programme, and cost
  • Lead site teams, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Act as the primary interface with the client, designers, and stakeholders
  • Chair site progress meetings and drive actions to close
  • Civils & Construction Management
  • Manage significant civil works including earthworks, access roads, foundations, drainage, ducting, and compounds
  • Ensure civil designs are buildable and delivered in line with method statements and programme
  • Coordinate civil and electrical interfaces to avoid clashes and rework
  • Electrical & Technical Management
  • Oversee delivery of electrical works involving long cable routes, multiple transformer installations, and complex site tie-ins
  • Coordinate electrical construction sequencing and technical resolution
  • Identify and manage technical and constructability risk
  • Commercial & Budget Management
  • Full responsibility for budget control and commercial performance
  • Manage subcontract procurement, scopes, valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Identify change events early and ensure timely commercial recovery
  • Maintain accurate cost forecasting and reporting
  • Develop, maintain, and drive the project programme
  • Identify critical path activities, constraints, and risks
  • Implement mitigation measures to protect programme and margin
  • Quality, Safety & Commissioning
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements
  • Lead inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover
  • Ensure works meet specification and contractual obligations
  • Reporting & Governance
  • Provide clear inputs into weekly and monthly project reports
  • Report progress, risks, and commercial position to senior management
  • Maintain robust project controls and documentation

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Construction project delivery experience.
  • Degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Construction Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale energy or infrastructure projects
  • Strong background in civil works and site construction management
  • Demonstrable experience managing budgets, subcontractors, and commercial risk
  • Experience delivering projects with complex electrical scopes
  • Strong leadership and decision-making capability
  • Full driving licence
  • Experience with industrial energy or complex electrical infrastructure projects
  • Experience with long cable routes, multiple transformers, or complex site tie-ins

Familiarity with Irish construction contracts and site conditions
