Project Manager - Data / AI Programme

Contract Inside IR35 £550-£650 per day Government Programme

We are supporting a major UK Government programme delivering a series of data and AI-enabled capabilities designed to improve investigative and analytical outcomes across large and complex datasets.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to lead delivery across a number of workstreams focused on the use of data analytics, AI tools and advanced investigative technologies.

You will be working at the intersection of technology, data and operational teams, helping deliver solutions that support the analysis of large unstructured datasets and enable better decision-making across complex investigative environments.

The programme is currently exploring a range of technologies including AI-assisted analytics, data processing tools and advanced search capabilities, and the successful candidate will play a key role in managing delivery within a highly regulated government environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead delivery of complex data and analytics projects within a large government programme
  • Manage the implementation of tools designed to analyse large volumes of unstructured data such as documents and email datasets
  • Work closely with business teams, analysts and technology specialists to define delivery plans and manage project outcomes
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across technology, operations, governance and compliance
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with government delivery frameworks and security requirements
  • Manage project timelines, risks, dependencies and stakeholder engagement across multiple delivery teams
  • Support the development and rollout of AI-enabled investigative and analytical capabilities
  • Drive delivery across environments where governance, data security and compliance considerations are critical
Key Experience Required
  • Proven experience delivering data, analytics or AI-related programmes
  • Strong background managing complex technology or data transformation projects
  • Experience working with large data environments, ideally including unstructured datasets
  • Experience delivering projects involving analytical tools, AI platforms or investigative technologies
  • Strong stakeholder management experience across technical, operational and governance teams
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments such as government, law enforcement, financial services or regulated industries
  • Understanding of delivery challenges around data governance, security and compliance
Desirable Experience
  • Experience delivering projects within UK Government or public sector organisations
  • Exposure to AI tools, machine learning platforms or advanced data analytics environments
  • Experience working with investigative, compliance or financial crime data environments
  • Knowledge of agile delivery approaches within government technology programmes
Contract Details

Contract role

Inside IR35

£550-£650 per day (depending on experience)

Initial contract until mid-2026 with extension potential

Hybrid working (UK Government environment)
