A bit about youIf you're looking for an opportunity to use your technical skills and experience as part of the team in assisting with the project management delivery of some complex and challenging rail projects, then this could be the perfect role for you. We are looking for a Project Management Assistant (Rail) to become a part of our flourishing team, working on and supporting rail enhancement projects. We have a wide range of work to accomplish, with our current rail projects including major station upgrades, re-signalling, new station buildings and enhancements and technical and advisory services for a number of high-profile schemes.
About the roleWe're looking for someone with the following skills and experience to join our team:
- Ability to provide technical rail project delivery advice and guidance to non-technical clients
- Support that projects are delivered to time, cost and quality
- Maintaining a safe and environmentally working environment for staff and contractors within your projects
- Manage and take accountability of low complexity projects
- Monitor and report programme and progress in accordance with project reporting systems and guidelines.
- Develop and integrate, effective support systems to enable the Project Manager to manage and control change.
- Manage generic and site-specific methods of working and supply risk assessments to agreed timescales.
- Team player with excellent client management and communication skills
- Able to build relationships, share knowledge and constructively challenge the ideas of others with good evaluation
- Degree qualified in Project Management, or another related discipline
- Membership (or working towards membership) Association for Project Management
- Achieved PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the operational railway and railway infrastructure
- Demonstrable experience of delivery of projects in the rail environment
- Understanding of project commercial requirements & programme controls
- Knowledge of health, safety & environmental requirements and legislation including CDM Regulations and CSM-RA
- Knowledge and experience of project budget management.
- Experience in delivering third party projects on Network Rail Infrastructure
- Familiar or understand the Network Rail Asset Protection Process
- Full project lifecycle experience
- 1-2 years of experience gained within Project Management, within a consultancy environment
