Technologists apply engineering principles in the implementation of products, systems, and processes. This role differs from Engineers, who use theoretical engineering principles to research and design products, systems, and processes. In some countries, Technologists may require formal certification or registration and/or a Technologist Degree to practice.
Professional Technicians typically hold a Technical Degree, and some may have a combination of education and experience. Para-Professional Technicians are responsible for maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting and may not have formal certifications or education but possess relevant experience.
Duties:- Provides technical support for project engineering activities.
- Supports preparation of design, project controls, specifications, schedules, production, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment.
- Reviews and verifies progress for invoicing or payment as appropriate.
- Manages projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision.
- Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals.
- Addresses difficult and sometimes complex problems.
This role is INSIDE IR35.
