Job Description
Project Engineering Manager

Omega, part of the Staffline Group, is seeking a Project Engineering Manager for a site-based role within the Strategic Group CAPEX Function in England, United Kingdom (Hybrid work arrangement).

  • Job Type: Permanent
  • Location: Wigan area site, with hybrid work options, near West Lancs / Greater Manchester Border
  • Client: A category market leader in FMCG Manufacturing with factories worldwide
  • Compensation: OTE £90k inclusive of car and bonus

You will lead the delivery of world-class engineering CAPEX and Asset improvement projects as part of an investment programme involving multi-million CAPEX projects.

Our client is a renowned leader in FMCG Manufacturing, committed to Manufacturing Excellence through innovation and investment. The role involves significant on-site capital investment.

  • Responsibilities include: Managing the planning and implementation of capital and revenue projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery; supplier selection; financial control; customer acceptance; ownership of factory equipment and structures including packaging, processing, and utilities.
  • Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, with autonomy to deliver pragmatic, value-engineered projects within cost and time specifications.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing multi-functional teams of engineers and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Procurement of equipment through internal and external resources.
  • Leading engineering and production teams during equipment installation, startup, supplier selection, feasibility analysis, equipment commissioning, validation, and FAT.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical)
  • Experience in engineering Project Management roles
  • Experience with CAPEX investments
  • Willingness to travel across UK factories
  • Methodical, detail-oriented, achievement-focused, capable of working under pressure
  • Ability to plan engineering works to minimize production impact
