Job Description
The Junior Project Developer will work directly with the Permitting Manager and the legal department supporting them in their duties and in contact with all departments.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Managing the granting of permits, licenses and authorizations (PLAs) before authorities and regulatory bodies, from the deposit of guarantees and the request/update of access and connection permits (in the case of proprietary developments, e.g. BESS) to the start-up of the project, as well as maintaining contact with technicians and public officials following up from the application phase to the post-construction phase (e.g. follow-up of conditions imposed in the permits).
- Supervision and monitoring of PLAs by maintaining updated records and databases to ensure compliance with deadlines and milestones (applications, correspondence, resolutions and subsequent follow-up) ensuring the traceability of the development.
- Support in project due diligence (purchases and sales, financing, etc.).
- Keeping up to date on regulations applicable to projects at state, regional and local level, monitoring changes and updates (hybridization, capacity market, subsidies/subsidies, etc.).
- Oversee land-related aspects of the project, including contract management for solar plants and evacuation infrastructures, as well as expropriation procedures when necessary.
- Coordinate and interact directly with all key stakeholders in the development of the project: landowners, state, regional and local authorities, public entities, agencies, operators, etc.
- Collaborate with:
- Internal teams (engineering, M&A, legal, etc.), providing support in the development and procurement of new projects and compliance with funding requirements, etc.
- External teams, including counterparties, developers, suppliers and technical and legal advisors, overseeing their performance.
- Providing support in all activities associated with project development: reviewing documentation of data rooms for acquisitions, follow up of projects development progress, qualitative and quantitative due diligence of permits, documentation review, etc.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must include, among others, the following qualifications and experience:
- Currently studying a master degree or a post-graduate program after being graduated on a Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Law or Engineering or other renewable energies related field.
- Interest in project development in renewable energy sector and M&A execution processes.
- Attention to detail and very strong analytical skills.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
- English and Spanish language proficiency is a must. Other European languages would be an asset.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and fast learner.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and hands-on and detail-oriented environment.
- Previous labor experience is a plus.
